NPSDA Church Services Suspended
Dear North Perth Church members and regularly attending visitors,
The Australian Union Conference leaders have sent out the attached correspondence late this afternoon, following a meeting with all Conference Presidents, recommending that churches suspend all services until the end of April 2020.
The North Perth Church Board met this evening and considered the recommendation.
As church leaders, we have taken the collective view that the recommendation should be followed. In light of the guidance provided by the Health Department and our Conference Presidents, and in order to better protect our church community, our Friday and Saturday church services will be suspended, effective immediately.
The following decisions are of relevance to you and your family:
- Friday night vespers are cancelled until further notice.
- Sabbath School classes for all divisions are cancelled until further notice.
- Saturday morning worship services are cancelled until further notice.
- Adventurer Club meetings are cancelled until further notice.
Please take comfort in the fact that the North Perth Church Board together with the Elders are continuing to meet to plan and finalise different options that will enable us to worship in smaller groups and/or online. As your leaders, we are committed to being resourceful in providing solutions that enable us to turn challenge into opportunity – opportunities to deepen our walk with God (Reach Up); to connect, encourage and support each other (Reach In); and to use this opportunity to help those around us and share the gospel with others (Reach Out).
We will have an update for you by Friday regarding the different ways you can still engage with each other and your leaders.
We claim Paul’s words to the Romans as he reminds us, “… we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
We will continue to keep you updated as significant changes or new developments occur, but I do encourage all of you to remain personally informed of the latest Government advice and act with consideration for your own health and the health of those around you.
Please keep our church in your prayers and let us know if you become aware of any specific needs within our church community.
